Hi, I’m Roo, a PhD candidate in the University of Chicago Biophysical Sciences program. My research explores microbial nutrient cycling in dynamic coastal systems, with a particular interest in the diversity of phototrophs inhabiting these environments. I’m currently working on understanding the contributions of viruses and other mobile genetic elements to the ecology and biogeochemistry of Trunk River. Outside of lab, I love exploring my Cape Cod habitat!
